Overview

Mainframe Services provide a mainframe computing environment that hosts the as-yet-unmigrated components of UCSB’s legacy financial systems. 

Mainframe Services features include:

  • IBMz/OS
  • Software AG’s Adabas

  • Com-Plete

  • Natural

  • Broker (RPC) Services

We also support terminal emulation for mainframe access via Mocha TN3279 Desktop Software for Windows and Macintosh Systems, and PDF output instead of physical print via our MainframePDF service. You can access Mainframe Services technical documentation here.

Special Considerations

BARC users/customers require a mainframe account for access even though they do not directly access the mainframe environment.
